Karen Wright

Trainer

I am a certified personal trainer (NASM), yoga teacher, health coach, running coach, and stretch therapist who believes in a balanced approach to whole-body health. I love helping people feel stronger, move better, and build sustainable habits that support their lives both inside and outside the gym.

I offer thoughtfully designed strength training programs for all levels—whether you’re brand new to the gym or looking to take your independent lifting to the next level. My programming is structured and intentional, while always tailored to your individual goals, experience, and abilities. Sessions often incorporate elements of mobility, conditioning, and recovery to support well-rounded fitness and long-term progress.

My coaching style is both supportive and challenging. I meet clients where they are—physically and mentally—on any given day, while encouraging them to push beyond previous limitations and plateaus. There’s nothing better than helping someone discover they’re capable of more than they thought.

As a mom myself, I’m especially passionate about supporting moms-to-be in staying healthy, strong, and active throughout pregnancy in ways that feel safe and empowering.

Outside the gym, I love hiking and trail running, camping, reading, and binge-listening to podcasts. I’ll try just about anything once—and I encourage that same spirit of curiosity in my clients.

More About Karen

Karen's Fitness Journey

I’ve always been physically active and interested in healthy living. I started dancing in preschool and continued through high school, balancing it with various sports to stay busy and connected in a small town. Moving my body always came more naturally to me than subjects like calculus or physics—and it was far more rewarding.

When I was around 21, my cousin dragged me into the gym and introduced me to strength training. I was hooked almost immediately. A few years later, I began distance running as a way to manage the stress of full-time teaching and to stay in shape.

Eventually, when I felt ready for a break from teaching high school English, I leaned more fully into my passion for wellness. I became certified to teach yoga and began training friends and acquaintances on the side, while also teaching boot camps and hybrid yoga/fitness classes. Before long, the demand for personal training grew beyond what I could keep as a side gig, and I decided to pursue my personal training certification.

Since then, I’ve felt incredibly lucky that this work has been able to move with me through life’s many changes—multiple relocations, motherhood, and even a pandemic. Whether teaching classes, working with clients one-on-one, or coaching over Zoom, I’ve always been able to continue sharing what I love.

I’m grateful for the flexibility this career offers and for the opportunity to help others stay strong, healthy, and active through all of life’s changes and challenges.

What Body Positive Means to Karen

5. What does Body Positivity mean to you:

I’ve been fascinated by the human body since I was five years old, and I’m still in awe of what it can do. Bodies are resilient, adaptable, and endlessly unique. To me, body positivity means shifting the focus away from appearance and toward appreciation for how our bodies move, function, and carry us through life.
