I am currently pursuing my Master's in Public Health at Emory University while educating myself and the community with my passion for body positivity and intuitive eating/exercise. I grew up playing sports and staying active but dealt with a lot of health issues and injuries that ended that lifestyle. When I learned about mindful and intuitive health, I fell in love with the fact that I was finally back in control of my own body and now I hope to help others do the same.
I started my journey in fitness and nutrition about a year and a half ago and it was because my health issues had taken control and I needed that control back. I had been struggling with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Insulin Resistance, and Hormonal imbalances since I was about 13 years old and dealt with a lot of symptoms that caused a lot of distress mentally, physically and emotionally. Due to the misinformation and education with this disorder, doctors had put me on about 12-15 different diets for years that started when I was in elementary school that were never sustainable. It wasn't until I started working with a personal trainer who promoted being mindful with my body and a nutritionist that told me that it was unhealthy for me to count calories, to get on a scale, and to restrict foods that allowed me to repair my relationship with food and exercise and live a healthy lifestyle. I now focus on what my body is telling me!

Body Positivity to me is accepting my body on not just the days I feel good, but also the days I feel bad. It also means to listen to what my body needs rather than what the diet and fitness industry tells me it needs.
